In many manufacturing facilities, the process may not be in close proximity to the control room or control panel. Typically, it is advantagous for the operator to regularly know the process variable and / or alarm condition. It was just that situation that prompted a customer to ask us for an infrared system that incorporated a large display of process temperature. The system pictured at the left was supplied with a 2-color infrared sensor, interconnecting cable, sensor power supply, power on/off switch and all mounted, prewired, fused and tested in a Nema-12 wall mounting enclosure. The display has big bright 2.25″ high LED digits and can be seen from across the manufacturer’s plant floor. The display color changes as alarm conditions change. This system has also been built with alarm outputs, process retransmission outputs and a sensor laser sighting on/off switch.
